This year Vesak Days falls on the 5th May, and as usual, we will celebrate in advance.
Celebrating Vesākha also means making special efforts to bring happiness to the unfortunate like the aged, the physically disable and the sick. To this day, Buddhists will distribute gifts in cash and various donation to various charitable homes through out the country. Vesākha is also a time for great joy and happiness, expressed not by pandering to one’s appetites but by concentrating on meaningful activities such as decorating and illuminating temples, painting and creating exquisite scenes from the life of the Buddha for public dissemination. Refreshments and vegetarian food are provided to followers who visited the temple to pay homage to the Enlightened One.

This year, the celebration took place in our school. A speech was arranged from our spiritual advisor and some back-ground explanation concerning with “Vesak”.
Our spiritual advisor, Bhante Shravasti Dhammika, delivered the crowd with a very meaningful speech regards to Vesak Day. A simple and important ritual was held, whereby we offered flowers, light and water to Buddha, followed by the puja session.

A great hand to our two organisers, Zin Win Kyaw and Yan Paing Oo, who had put in their best effort and kept the event running smoothly. Not forgetting the effort from all the committee members, whom have come together to make it a successful event. (:
Many thanks to our dear two emcees, Yin Teng and Phyo Pyae Sone for keeping the crowd alive. Their ideas and presentation were not just “Amazing”, “Bravo!" if their effort has to be expressed in word.
It is very delightful to see all the alumni and juniors and freshies, coming down to our event to encompass the birth, away of Gautama Buddha (we call it “Vesak”).

Not only is heart-warming to see all the new faces being such enthusiastic in our society and willing to find out more about “Buddhism”.
It makes us, the NPBS family, to feel our effort for the society worthwhile. We saw a lot of promising looks in the face of the juniors and it gives us a sense of achievement and willingness to go extra mile and serve. Seeing all the new and old members laughing, talking to each other, making friends with each other and sharing their experience, are like seeing new potentials for our NPBS future.

We all believed that the upcoming events would be welcoming and warming to all the members of NPBS family.

Vesak day was successfully celebrated on 2nd May, greatly appreciate those who came and participated in our celebration.
For those who have missed the chance to participate in this event, we have good news for you guys!!!!!!! There will be more events going to happen in NPBS. Make sure you check our facebook page updates and blog to keep updated with our upcoming events
